Mrs. Fox Carney Hits the Ice with Women’s Ringette Champions in Nepean

The Opening Ceremony for the 2026 Canadian Ringette Championship took place on March 29th, 2026 at the Steve Yzerman Arena at the Nepean Sportsplex in Prime Minister Mark Carney’s home riding.

In celebration, Prime Minister Mark Carney’s wife, Mrs. Diana Fox Carney, took to the ice and played a match with the U16AA girls’ Nepean Ravens team from the Nepean Ringette Association, which competed in the tournament, to encourage young women’s participation and success in sports.

She also spoke with the bronze medal winners from the Nepean team at the Ringette Ontario A Provincial Championships, congratulating them on their recent win and recognizing the success and contributions of young female athletes within the riding.
