Prime Minister Mark Carney dined at Greenfield’s Public House in his riding of Nepean, where he met with the community’s provincial and municipal representatives to discuss affordability and housing needs. He was joined by Tyler Watt, Member of Provincial Parliament for Nepean; Mark Sutcliffe, Mayor of Ottawa; Wilson Lo Councillor for Ward 24, Barrhaven East; David Hill, Councillor for Ward 3, Barrhaven West; and Sean Devine, Councillor for Ward 9, Knoxdale-Merivale.
They discussed major priorities for the community, such as building more affordable housing options and improving community safety in the riding. Discussions included the federal government’s role in addressing vehicle theft and recent measures introduced, a federal co-working space, and local community infrastructure, alongside conversations about collaboration with the National Capital Commission (NCC).
Prime Minister Carney has reaffirmed that the federal, provincial, and municipal governments will continue working closely together to ensure these goals are achieved in Nepean and across Canada.
