Prime Minister Mark Carney's wife, Mrs. Diana Fox Carney, visited St. Mary’s Coptic Church in Nepean, to meet with members of the local Coptic Christian community.
During the visit, Mrs. Fox Carney attended a presentation to learn more about the Coptic Christian community in Nepean and across Canada, spoke with staff and members of the community, and toured the church’s facilities, including the Sunday School, children’s liturgy and youth meeting rooms, seniors’ service centre, and gym.
Mrs. Fox Carney spoke with the church's priests Father Marcos Abdel-Messih Morcos and Father (Hegomen) Shenouda Doss Boutros, and was presented with a memorialia painted by local artist Hanna Boutros representing Mrs. Fox Carney and the Prime Minister incorporated within traditional Coptic patterns and artwork.
