The Right Honourable Prime Minister Mark Carney and his wife Mrs. Diana Fox Carney joined community members at the South Nepean Muslim Community (SNMC) Centre to celebrate Iftar during the holy month of Ramadan with constituents and parliamentary colleagues.
Prime Minister Carney shared meals with families breaking their fast and spoke with local residents, community leaders, and volunteers, and thanked the community for their warm invitation. He also spoke with Islam Ibrahim, President of the SNMC, and their board members, discussing the local community and the SNMC's operations.
He noted that iftar gatherings bring together families, friends, and neighbours across Canada, reflecting the values of generosity, compassion, and community that define Ramadan. He also extended his warmest Ramadan Mubarak wishes to all those observing the holy month.
